Do you accept insurance?

How We Operate

Pure Balance is a cash-pay practice. This allows us to spend more time with patients and provide individualized, thoughtful care without insurance restrictions.

Why We Don’t Bill Insurance

Insurance often dictates visit length, testing, and treatment options. By operating outside of insurance, we can focus on what’s clinically appropriate instead of what’s reimbursable.

What This Means for You

You’ll receive transparent pricing, longer visits, and care decisions based on your needs and not insurance guidelines. Labs and medications are always discussed upfront.

What should I expect at my first visit?

Starting With the Right Information

For hormone care, lab work is required so we can fully evaluate hormone levels and key markers. We can use recent labs from your primary care provider, but additional testing may be needed if important markers are missing.
For weight loss care, labs are not always required. If recent labs are available, we’re happy to review them. When obtained, labs help guide care and allow us to track improvements over time.

Your Visit With Ashley

You’ll meet directly with Ashley for a comprehensive visit focused on symptoms, health history, goals, and any available lab data. For hormone patients, this visit occurs the following week after labs. For weight loss patients, this often happens the same day, with labs obtained in-office if appropriate.

Scheduling Your Appointment

You can schedule your visit online through our website at your convenience, or you’re always welcome to call our office at 256-643-2749 if you prefer to schedule by phone. Our team is happy to help you find a time that works best for you.

Why do you order labs before treatment?

Labs Provide Context

Lab testing is required for all hormone therapy patients to ensure treatment is safe and appropriate. For weight loss care, labs are not always required but are often recommended to help guide care and track improvements in markers such as cholesterol, blood sugar, thyroid function, and overall metabolic health over time. Lab testing provides objective information that helps identify patterns, imbalances, and contributors to symptoms. By evaluating hormones, metabolism, thyroid, and nutrient status together, we gain a clearer picture of what’s happening beneath the surface and how best to support your health.

More Than One Number

We don’t make decisions based on a single lab value or reference range. Results are interpreted alongside your symptoms, medical history, life stage, and goals. What’s “normal” on paper doesn’t always reflect what’s optimal for you.

Guided, Not Guesswork

Testing allows treatment decisions to be intentional, targeted, and safe. It helps us choose appropriate therapies, monitor response over time, and make adjustments as your body changes.

How Do You Decide If Hormone Therapy Is Right for Me?

Symptoms Matter

Fatigue, mood changes, poor sleep, weight changes, brain fog, and low libido are often signs of hormonal imbalance. These symptoms provide important clinical clues and are never dismissed, even when labs appear “normal.”

Labs Are A Tool

Hormone levels are evaluated in context, not isolation. We assess total and free hormone levels, binding proteins, and related markers to understand how hormones are functioning in your body. Labs help guide decisions, but they are only one piece of the puzzle.

Individualized Decisions

Hormone therapy is never one-size-fits-all. Recommendations are based on symptoms, labs, medical history, life stage, and goals. The decision is always personalized and made collaboratively.
If you’re unsure whether your symptoms may be hormone-related, you can also take the quiz on our Women’s Health or Men’s Health page as a helpful starting point.

Sustainable weight management through lifestyle and medical support

Do I Have to Stay on Weight Loss Medication Long Term?

No You Don’t

Weight loss medications are a tool, not a lifetime requirement. Some patients use medication short term to help overcome metabolic resistance or get momentum, while others benefit from longer support depending on their physiology, history, and goals.

Focus On Maintenance

The goal is sustainable weight loss with a clear plan for maintenance. We focus on improving metabolic health, appetite regulation, and lifestyle habits so that weight loss can be maintained over time, whether or not medication continues.

Ongoing Guidance

Care is not static. We reassess progress, side effects, and goals regularly, making adjustments as needed. When appropriate, medication can be tapered or discontinued thoughtfully rather than stopped abruptly.

06

How do I know which IV drip is right for me?

Symptom Based Selection

IV options are selected based on your current symptoms and goals, such as low energy, dehydration, recovery needs, immune support, or overall wellness.

Guidance

Our team helps guide you toward the most appropriate drip based on your needs, medical history, and intake form.

Based on How You Feel

Your experience after treatment helps guide future care. Improvements in energy, hydration, recovery, or symptoms help determine whether the same drip is continued or adjusted.

07

How do you monitor for side effects or risks?

Ongoing Monitoring

We monitor symptoms, clinical response, and, when appropriate, laboratory markers over time. For hormone therapy patients, labs are used regularly to ensure treatment remains safe and effective. For weight loss care, labs are obtained selectively when needed to guide treatment decisions or monitor specific health markers. This approach allows us to identify trends early, assess how your body is responding, and address concerns proactively.

Education First

You’ll never be left guessing. We take time to explain what to expect, common side effects to watch for, and when to reach out. Clear education helps you feel confident and informed throughout your care. You’ll never be left guessing. If questions or concerns arise, you have access to reach our staff at Pure Balance by text or email so we can guide you on next steps and provide support when you need it.

Adjustments When Needed

Adjustments are made based on symptoms, response to treatment, and goals, with laboratory data used when clinically appropriate. For hormone therapy patients, labs help guide dosing and formulation changes over time. For weight loss care, adjustments are often guided by progress, tolerance, and side effects, with labs incorporated when needed. This ensures care remains both safe and effective as your body and needs change.
